AJC Ltd Management

The Australian Jockey Club Ltd executive team is responsible for the operation and implementation of the Club's business strategies. 

Under the guidance of a strategic business plan the following people are responsible for the following activities:

Norman Gillespie Chief Executive  Responsibilities include directing and managing the senior management team, providing policy and procedure as determined by the Committee and representing the club in an industry capacity.
Livia Bartoletti Executive Director, Legal Affairs  Livia has over 10 years senior legal experience specialising in media, technology and entertainment law, both in-house and with top Sydney law firm, Freehills. Having spent many years as an in-house counsel, Livia has the perfect balance of legal and general commercial skills to understand the commercial imperatives essential to take the AJC Ltd into the future. Livia began her career in construction law, before studying for her Masters Degree in media and entertainment law.
Joanne Tonks Executive Director, Business Development  From her experience as the AJC’s Ltd recent financial controller, Joanne has an unrivalled depth of understanding of the AJC Ltd business, coupled with extensive financial management experience in senior management roles in the entertainment industry. Joanne’s focus is to lead major business transformation projects. She has been responsible for the program to integrate all the AJC Ltd information systems to create greater operational and cost efficiencies.
Tony Crawford Executive Director, Business Development  Tony has been a consultant to the AJC Ltd in 2007, successfully managing, in the interests of the AJC Ltd and its stakeholders, negotiations with the NSW Government relating to World Youth Day. As a former partner of Ferrier Hodgson, Tony has a depth of experience in major corporate financial reorganization. He joins the AJC Ltd full-time with a strong commercial and property background, essential for the development and execution of the Master Plan.
Richard Freedman Executive Director, Racing Operations  Richard Freedman’s racing credentials are exemplary. From 1984 to 2001 Richard had a successful training career with the Freedman Brothers stable. In addition to nearly 20 years of experience as a trainer, he has spent the last seven years, as a racing media commentator. In his media capacity with 2KY, Richard had to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all the key players and issues that impact and influence Australian thoroughbred racing.
Elizabeth McIntyre Executive Director, Marketing and Sales  Elizabeth has over fifteen years senior marketing experience specialising in major events and sports marketing. Elizabeth joined the AJC Ltd in late 2007, and has been appointed to the full-time position having illustrated her outstanding abilities. Prior to the AJC Ltd, Elizabeth was Marketing Director for Walt Disney Television in Australia/New Zealand and Marketing Director for Sports Entertainment Limited for productions such as ‘The Producers’ and ‘Grease - The Arena Spectacular’. Before this she headed up Ford’s V8 Supercar marketing and sponsorship program.
Darren Pearce Executive Director, Finance and Corporate Services  Darren has been with the AJC Ltd for two and half years, beginning the process of modernizing the systems and management of the AJC Ltd as a business. Utilising his extensive Accounting and Banking experience, Darren has been committed to providing a new level of corporate services to the Club. Darren has over 15 years experience in senior financial and corporate management roles, with extensive personal experience in racing.
Lynell Peck Executive Director, Function and Event Operations  Lynell has 14 years senior management experience with the AJC Ltd, responsible for the vital hospitality & events department. Lynell has been the ‘face’ of the AJC’s Ltd front of house team for Club members and guests. Prior to the AJC Ltd, Lynell held senior food and beverage management roles with a range of 5 star hotels; the Park Lane Hotel (now Sheraton on the Park) and before this she worked for ten years with the Regent Hotel group.
