Distance from GPO: 5km

For over 160 years, magnificent Randwick has played host to Sydney’s finest thoroughbreds and remains the premier venue for top class racing in the flair, excitement and high fashion of the Sport Of Kings.

Racing first commenced here in 1833 and the track was originally called "Sandy Course". It was later moved to Homebush in 1838. The AJC was formed in 1842 and moved back to Randwick in 1860. Granted the right to be known as Royal Randwick by Queen Elizabeth in 1992, the course is a wide, sweeping surface of spirit and thundering history attended by charming, ‘olde worlde’ structures and polished, modern stands like the Paddock Stand which offers excellent dining and bars along with marvelous viewing facilities.

Just 5km from the heart of the city on Alison Road, Kensington, Royal Randwick offers plenty of on-track parking for private vehicles via High Street or can be easily accessed by public transport.
